Michael Wierschem
MD, MBA, FACS, BOARD-CERTIFIED
Dr. Wierschem has been a leading Urological surgeon in the Dallas area for over 25 years. He received his undergraduate training at Texas A&M University where he graduated with honors. He proceeded to graduate medical school in Dallas at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. After completing a urologic residency at the University of Georgia, he completed specialized microsurgical training for men at the esteemed Cornell-Weill Medical College in New York City.
Although Dr. Wierschem continues to stay up-to-date on all of the most current treatments for his patients he also finds time to make sure he is doing so in the most cost-effective and efficient way possible for his patients. To that end, he obtained an MBA through Brandeis University and Tufts Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts which gives him great insight into the complex economics of the Healthcare World.
Dr Wierschem is a well respected member of his community and he previously served as the Chief of Urology at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Plano for 15 years. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and stays current with all the Men’s Health issues by being an active member of the Sexual Medicine Society of North America, the International Society for Sexual Medicine and the American Society for Reproductive Medicine.
Giving back to his community has always been important to Dr. Wierschem. He has been actively involved for many years with Project Access where he donates his time and surgical skills to the underprivileged of Collin County. Dr. Wierschem has also traveled on several occasions to Bulgaria in eastern Europe for Medical Mission trips where he provides medical treatment for refugees and orphans in need.
